The Gospel:

1. Imagine the magnificence of God. God is infinite. God made everything – universe after universe-stars-planets–moons-black holes–solar systems–earth-light–time-land-water-vegetation-fish-animals-birds-man-YOU. He is the divine Creator. God saw His creation and declared it good. He saw you and loves you. He made man to live forever. Genesis 1-2

2. Man, whom God created, disrespected God. We disobeyed God. Because of our disregard for God a chasm was placed between God and man and that chasm is called sin. Man was created to have fellowship with God; but, because of his own stubborn self-will, he chose to go his own independent way and fellowship with God was broken. "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Man is Separated by the chasm-sin. "The wages of sin is death" and man that was made to live forever would now die -a spiritual separation from God (Romans 6:23). "...(Those) who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus...will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord..." (2 Thessalonians 1:8,9)

3. In spite of man’s sin. God loves His creation. God knew that the penalty for sin was death. He knew man would die (Romans 6:23). Therefore, this infinite, magnificent God who created man chose to send Himself to His creation to die and pay the penalty for man’s sin (Isaiah 53, Psalm 22, John 3:16, Romans 5:5-8, 1 Corinthians 15:1-3). God came to earth to die on a cross. The folly of the Gospel is that God would choose to die for us. That is the great love!

4. Jesus, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross (Philippians 2:6-8 ESV). Because Jesus was the One to pay the debt of sin – ONLY Jesus is the way to salvation, Heaven and a restored relationship with God (John 14:6).
